Lambert Village has capacity for 45 residents, all enjoying single rooms, most with ensuites. The facility has 5 main buildings set on spacious landscaped grounds.
North Wing has 10 motel style rooms fully furnished with ensuites. TV, refrigerator, gas heating and covered access.
Rankine Wing [completed March 2011] has 10, fully furnished motel style single rooms with wall mounted TV, refrigerator, disability ensuites, gas heating and covered access. Ashenden House, houses 3 residents in separate bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 lounge rooms and outdoor deck [all rooms fully furnished]. Ashenden Wing [completed March 2008] consists of 5, spacious apartments fully furnished incl. washing machine and dryer, fridge freezer, TV, microwave, sink and laundry trough, 1 bedroom, lounge, ensuite bathroom, kitchen[no cooking] and air conditioning.
The main facility building houses the commercial kitchen, dining room, meeting room, housekeepers residence, office/ reception, TV lounge, laundry, large undercover BBQ area and designated smokers pavilion. This building also has 2 x 2 bedroom self contained furnished flats, [suitable for couples] 7 single rooms with share bathrooms and 7 studio rooms furnished with ensuites in close proximity to the dining room and facilities for clients needing extra care. Lambert Village is 300m from the CBD where centrelink, banking, Centro shopping precinct, post office, medical clinics etc are within easy walking distance. Additional space is available for activities including a vegetable garden with fruit trees, fowls, workshop and exercise areas.
Services provided at Lambert, include all meals, medication management, personnel laundry, cleaning, linen, personnel care, and assistance with personnel finances and supplies and shopping. Additional assistance is available by arrangement for accompanied doctor visits, podiatry, dental and optical services. Residents are encouraged to maintain their personnel space and to be involved in the day to day activities of the facility. A volunteer pastoral care worker also visits and is available to all residents.
The facility fees are set by government at 84% of the fortnightly, Aged or Disability Pension, including full rent assistance. A bond, equivalent to 2 weeks, board and lodgings is required on entry.[This is often sourced from Housing SA]
The residents at Lambert range in age from their mid 30’s to late 80’s and are housed according to age and gender in various parts of the facility.
Resident’s diagnoses include frail aged, intellectual and physical disability, brain damage, mental health and various infirmities from lifestyle choices.
Substantial upgrading has recently been made to the fire safety system with the installation of sprinklers and emergency alarms in all rooms.
Alexam Place is situated at 24 Hazel Road, Salisbury East, and is a Supported Residential Facility managed by a qualified and licensed Manager with a staff of 11 who are employed to assist residents and make their stay as comfortable as possible.
Alexam Place was was initially a family home which was renovated to a supportive care facility in 1988. The name Alexam was chosen in memory of two family members of the proprietors, Alexas and Adam.
Staff are specialized in mental health, intellectual disability and early onset of dementia and are available 24 hours a day every day of the week.
Alexam Place is wheelchair friendly and offers a combination of accommodation to suit all budgets from single rooms with ensuites and double rooms.
